Due to popular demand, the library held a second debate watch party for the third and final debate of the campaign. Popcorn, popped on site by the League of Women Voters, lent a festive air (and aroma) to the event.  100 patrons joined for cookies, pop and bingo as well as the opportunity to watch the debate as a community. The Civic Engagement Committee at the Library was thrilled and gratified to be able to hold this event. All ages attended, including students from three classes at Shawnee Mission West High School.

Tell us a little about your background. What takes up your time?

I was born in Kansas and have spent the majority of my life living in the Midwest. I'm a full time artist and homeschooling mother of two teenage boys. When I find a quiet moment I love to read and do a bit of writing as well.

What brought you to Johnson County? How long have you lived here? How has it changed in that time?
